Napa Valley Wine Tours Napa Valley in California is made up of six regions
              – Napa, Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, and
Calistoga. They are home to over 300 public and private wineries.
Each has its unique flavor and atmosphere and offer wine tours of
there wineries. Some of Napa's wineries require advance reservations
for wine tours and a few are not open to the general public. Sonoma Valley Wine Tours Sonoma Valley also in California is made up of five
regions – Los Cameros District, Sonoma Valley, Russian River
Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Alexander Valley. Sonoma Valley is
home to over 200 wineries. Downtown Sonoma’s Historic Sonoma
Square is home to the oldest winery in California, and along the
Russian River is where the largest producer of champagne in the
U.S. resides. In Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley there are many
companies who offer chauffeured wine tours, and wineries that cater
to both individuals and large groups. A typical wine tour consists
of a vineyard tour, a production process run-down, and a wine tasting
              session.
Visitors come from all over the World to taste
wine from “estate” cellars to small family owned “boutique”
wineries. Whether you’re an experienced wine connoisseur or
a novice wine enthusiast, wine tours can be exciting and educational.

                | In this brief, intoxicating book,
Vanity Fair contributor Deutschman chronicles the year or so
he spent as a freeloading guest at some of the finest homes
in the Sonoma and Napa valleys in the heart of California's
near-mythic wine country. He eavesdrops on conversations at
the cafe and bookstore, talks to locals at the Tuesday farmer's
market and indulges in bottle after bottle of fine wine (one
even costing half a million dollars) at the best tables. |
